The kids updates......

Tyler......
had is first day of kindergarten today. We started his day off with dropping off his sister at day care so that we could take him to breakfast. The three of us went to Carrows were Tyler had eggs and bacon with Milk. We than went over to his new school and took him into his Kindergarten classroom. He was introduced to his teacher Mrs Brown and saw where he would be spending his 9-3:10 days.

I on the other had was a mess. Having to leave him off where I knew no one and leaving my baby in the hands of strangers. I was so nervous about him not getting on the bus to the day care. And my worries were right, the day care came to get the kids and Tyler was no where around. He was with another group of kids. They went and found him and he is safe in my arms. I know it will get less worrisome as the days go by.

Kiley ....
on the other hand is getting big. She is now 4 months old and is already rolling all over. No more just putting her on a blanket and walking to the other room. She will roll right off and be on the other end before you know it. She is also holding her bottle already and responding to ever ones voices. I love the fact her hair is long enough for me to put her in pig tails. I can not wait to see what this next month brings to her learning.

I know it has been awhile since I posted things but my time is used up on kids, work, wife and so on. I will post when I can.

I know it's been a while

So it's been a while since I posted anything. Here is an update on our life.

Tyler- he will be starting kindergarten on Aug 24 and is looking forward in this. He is still so happy about being a big brother. He has been reading books and playing with is little sister. He also wants to help with her... like change her, give her a bath, helps grandma feed her and sings to her. He has been wonderful. Over the summer he has been in swim and has done so much better than last year, soccer will start soon too so busy fall here we come.

Kiley- She is now 3 months old... yes already. She is going well and is about 10 lbs now. She is eating better and sleeping through the night so I am loving it. She is also rolling from her back to her side already (I think it's early, but I go with it) she has been smiling and making noise more each day. She lights up when Tyler is around and recognized her surroundings. It's just simply amazing having a baby around again.

Erik and I- We are trying to budget our time between work, home and the kids. It is very hard to spend time with each other as we both take one kid when we get home. Work for us is doing ok. Erik works for the state so there are all these ferlow days (or as I call them work for free days) so it's cutting into our budget. Other than that we are good.

Here are a few picture that we have taken ....

Preschool Graduation 2009

Today was the end of Tyler's preschool experience..... he graduated and will start kindergarten on Aug 24, 2009. This is only the first of many graduations for him. He will still need to go though his kindergarten, Jr high and high school in 2019. He sang songs and received his diploma and we could not be more proud parents. He is ready for kindergarten not only educationally, but physically and emotionally and we cant wait to start another chapter in is young life.

The past 5 years as flown by we now look as his sister Kiley and so see him as the baby he once was.

poor Tyler

So Tyler came down with a horrible cold. Double pick eye and ear infection plus sinus infection. He has graduation tomorrow and he has not been at school all week and will not be there tomorrow. I am taking him just so he can walk and get his pre-school diploma and to take some picture.

I am also having to keep him far away from Kiley as I so don't want her to get it. All this the week before I go back to work. After this week work will feel like a vacation.

One month today!!!

So our little girl is 1 month today and what a month is has been. I have had to get use to the whole routine of having a baby. Early morning, late night, cry for no reason at all, colic and running late to everything. The new issue at hand is that this time around the breastfeeding has worked out although this little one will not take formula. I have tried 3 different kinds and she just wont do it. I wanted to try and get her to do formula during the day while I am at work and nurse her once I am home (due to the pumping as been getting less and less) I have read up on things I can take to increase the milk supply and it look like at this point this is what I am going to have to do.

Tyler has now become a little jealous of his little sister. He try's to get every bit of my attention all day long. Most of the time it could not be worse timing (when the phone rings, when I am nursing and while I am cooking) the funny thing is when it's just him and I he wants nothing to do with me. He still loves his little sis but I am sure he sometimes wants her not to be a baby.

As for Mom, I go back to work in 2 weeks and I can not believe it's time already. I know I have been out for sometime now but the formula and daycare issue is still on my mind. I will most likely be taking Kiley into the office with me a few days a week so I hope this works out. Most of the mom's out there that go back to work tend to have "ME" time while away form the kids but this will not be the case. I am not saying I do not love my kids to death but sometimes mom's need some time way from them.

I am just waiting to see what month 2 brings us. With family pictures around the corner I just hope the kids corporate on that day. Also Tyler will graduate preschool on June 4th so I need to prep myself for that. My baby boy is growing up and that just kills me... it has gone by so fast. I will post pictures of the event when it happens. Until than.....

Poor little girl

Ok so we needed to take Kiley to the Dr cause we thought she was constipated due to the large amount of iron I am taking. Her Dr did not think the iron was the issue and wants me to continue to nurse her. She did however say that she is sure Kiley has colic... fun for me. I am still concerned that it is the iron I mean how can I be taking 4 iron pills a day and her now get some effect from it. She tries s so hard to go to the bathroom, but I guess for now I will listen to her Dr.

On a good note she is 7 lbs 2 oz so I guess she is getting what she needs.

Kiley

So Kiley is 5 days old and she is such a good baby. Funny how instead of her waking us up in the middle of the night we have to wake her up. She is not a very big eater only about 1-3 oz every 4-5 hours. We try to get her to eat every 3 hours but she is not having it. She has already lost 9 oz and been seen at the hospital 2 days after she was born due to Johnduse. The test came back low so her ped Dr just had us give her 2 bottles of formula along with breast milk. So I have to make a follow up apt in a week to check on her. Mean while she is doing well and like I said sleeping all the time... here are some pictures we have taken in her first few days.
Shhhhh I'm sleeping.......
Look I have my eyes open
but not for long......
See they are closed again.

Our new arrival

As most of you know by now we had the blessing of our daughters arrival on April 25, 2009 at 10:15 am. Kiley Alexis Zelaya was 6 lbs 9 oz and 18 inches long when she entered this world. She put me though 16 hours of back labor but I only had to push 3 times before she was here.

As many of you know on Friday I was helping my grandma Judy get ready for her yard sale on Saturday. I was going to help her sell stuff Saturday morning but as you can see never made it. We had finished getting everything set up and came into the house at about 2. I was in such pain thinking I did way too much. By dinner I was in more pain and it kept going and going. When we arrived home at about 8 I was already on the phone with the Dr office who wanted me to go into the hospital as they were positive I was in active labor.
Once there it all began... I will spare you all the painful details and just say that I was happy to deliver her at 10 with Erik and Candice by my side.

Kiley is wonderful and we can't be happier.
